U.S. Senators
|
There are 100 Senators in Congress, two from each State, i.e. all states have equal
power in the Senate (independent of the population in the particular States). The Framers
of the Constitution made sure, that the Senate would be small, which would keep it more
orderly than the larger House of Representatives. The Framers of the Constitution gave
the Senators a sex-year term and balanced the shorter two-year terms of the members
of the House. The Constitution puts no limit on the number of terms a Senator may serve.
Elections for U.S. Senators take place on even-numbered years. Every two years,
one-third of the Senators are up for election.
|
Here you'll find a list of U.S. Senators, who either retire or are running for
re-election. I'll try to get information about each U.S. Senator about her/his voting in the issues, that
can make or break our country, for example cap & trade, Health Care, etc. - so you can determine
which U.S. Senator needs to be replaced. You'll find the additional information at a special page of
those particular U.S. Senators which you can open by clicking on the State. There you'll find also the
candidates who are running against the incumbent or for the seat of the retiring U.S. Senator as well as
information about them, so you can make up your mind if this candidate likely will vote in accordance
to our Constitution and like his constituents want him to vote or not. This should help to get the wrong
out and we the people in the Congress.
If you have any important information about the listed Senators please send me an e-mail (please include the source of your information—for example: website, newsletter, government record, etc.). Thank You!
Please click on the state for more information about the election and the candidates of the particular state.
Please find here the Senate seats that are NOT up for re-election in 2010 - with information about
the voting of those Senators who think (and hope) that the voters don't remember how they
voted, when they are running for re-election in 2012 or 2014. Folks, we are the "online-memory" and will
recall the information for the voters at the right time...
