U.S. Senate Election MA - Jan. 19 - 2010
I would like to share with you th following e-mail, I received:
Dear Folks,
I am writing to colleagues in the sports industry who live in Massachusetts to tell
to you how important the Senate election on Tuesday is, not just to Massachusetts,
but for all Americans – including those of us in Ohio. I must say that in my 54 years
of life experience, I have never seen an election that affects our country so dramatically.
Including the presidential recount in Florida in 2000.
I do not know your political leanings and honestly do not think it matters. From our point
of view, our nation is at a tipping point between two ideologies. Those currently in
power say that the American experiment in representative democracy is a failure.
That capitalism does not work. That individual rights must be subservient to
government rights and the rights of “the people.” That wealth must be redistributed
by government, not by free markets. That hard work and determination must not determine
your success or failure in life, because that is not fair to everyone, so the government
must take action to make sure that we are all “equal”.
We believe with all our hearts that individual liberty is a right given to us by our
creator and that we will bow to no government – foreign or domestic. That the government
works for us, we do not work for them. That hard work and determination are valued in
our society and are to be rewarded. That we are the greatest country in the history of
world because of our belief in the individual over the collective. We say that the
American experiment in representative democracy is not a failure, but that it has been
hijacked by elitist who want to control us and create a new world order that will oppress
all mankind.
This Tuesday, you and your fellow citizens, have the opportunity to decide for all of us
which direction we go as a country. A vote for Scott Brown says no to government control
of the Health Care system and yes to individual rights. A vote for Coakley says that you
want to be dependent on the government not only for Health Care but for many other things.
The irony of this happening in Massachusetts is unbelievable to us. Having led us all
from the clutches of tyranny over 200 years ago, now once again it falls to Massachusetts
to lead our country back to our roots and individual freedom. We obviously are hoping
and praying that you and a legion of your fellow citizens will vote for Scott Brown on Tuesday.
If you do not agree with our position, we respect that very much. That is what makes
America a great country and we expect and encourage you to vote your beliefs. We just
believe that the majority of Americans in both parties, and particularly independents,
have generally conservative views and that those views have no representation in either
party today. Tuesday, you will tell us if we are right or not.
No matter what you believe, please vote. Please exercise the right that we do not have in
this election. When you stand in that voting both, think of millions of us standing there
with you because you are voting for us, not just for yourself. It’s that important, and
we appreciate your taking you duty seriously.
Sincerely,
Tom Zawistowski, CEO
